To think, I started this company is 2014 is mind-blowing.
Jolie Laide has gone through so many different transformations and has grown with me as I navigate through the world of entrepreneurship, design, and innovation. After hitting the 3-year mark I think I may finally know what I’m doing. At least I think because I’m still here and still pretty excited for the future.
After a couple of production hiccups in 2017 (that caused me to have no product for months), defective issues and many expensive mistakes, I’m happy to be working with fresh new talented artisans this year who I hope will be able to grow with Jolie Laide.
I am truly grateful for all my experiences in 2017 and one particular is collaborating with one of my favorite graphic artists John Zabawa. I reached out to him after friend and photographer Florencia knew him personally. Together we created a gorgeous and sturdy tote, which is handmade in Quebec and printed in Toronto. The drawing is one that had been my favorite for a long time (actually hanging in my kitchen). The tote “L’ete Infinite” was created and now, is a staple in our line of travel accessories.
Overall, I’m still riding that wave of momentum from a crazy, amazing holiday season and channeling all that good energy into our first little photo shoot of the year (which was strongly overdue).
This photoshoot channels classic simplicity with a hint of the peculiar – while also introducing our next line of leather camera straps and leather camera bags which celebrates new textiles sourced from all over the world.
This shoot gave me life so thank you to everyone who helped make it happen so smoothly.
Thank you again to everyone for all the support in 2017
Cheers to another amazing year!
